Specification
PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE
Responsible for the management of the data MONITORING teams and systems which facilitate accurate and timely data collection, entry and reporting of information.

TECHNICAL WORK RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Monitoring and Management
Review and manage the DM Teams activities in order to achieve the project objectives
Update schedules on a weekly basis and each activity completed on the schedule has the associated documentation for auditing purposes
Information is collected in an ethical manner and data is securely stored and maintained
Perform all user acceptance testing (UAT) on all systems developed including data collection, data validation and reporting systems
Implement DM tools required to effectively complete the objectives of the DM plan or strategy. This will include data collection tools (CRFs/entry screens), system development, data validation and reporting
Implement the data training plan for each specific project
Set-up and maintain a Master User List to meet user management requirements throughout each project
Manage data collection sites according to site specific checklists
Perform a quality assessment on all equipment, software and implement adequate support procedures
Manage the tracking, processing and validation of all data collected
Manage the data collection from all external data providers, including laboratory data, x-rays etc.
Oversee the on-going quality management of data collected electronically by identifying errors/ inconsistencies in data and all resolutions are implemented allowing for the database to be declared as clean according to performance standards
Conduct timely data transfers in accordance with data transition agreements
Oversee that DM personnel complete all tasks according to the DM project plan
Continuously manage the projects to identify and escalate gaps to the Technical Data Managers for resolution

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
Oversee that the data is archived according to relevant policies and procedures together with the Archivist
Obtain weekly data reports from all sites and submit a comprehensive data report within the agreed time frame
Submit monthly data reports to the Technical Data Manager
Address all quality control queries from internal and external monitors and from external data management systems
Load all project specific documentation onto SharePoint allowing for the documentation to be centrally available

Requirements
Qualification/Professional
Matric/Grade 12
GCP Certificate

Advantageous
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree

Work Proven Experience
5 years’ experience in the data management field
5 years’ experience in a health or research environment

Other Requirements
Advanced software and computer skills: Databases and Excel
Understanding of HIV/AIDS
Overnight travel (up to 10%) by land or air when required
Valid Driver’s Licence
Own Vehicle
